## The Hook

Coroot is an open-source observability and APM tool that collects metrics, logs, traces and profiles with eBPF, draws a complete service map without code changes, and runs predefined inspections on every app.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0 (coroot/coroot), release v1.27.4 (2026-10-15). Zero-instrumentation telemetry via eBPF, application health summaries, SLO tracking, distributed tracing (including legacy services you cannot instrument), log pattern analysis, continuous profiling and cost monitoring for Kubernetes. Supports OpenTelemetry and has a live demo. ★~8k.

## The Catch

eBPF agents need privileged access and a recent Linux kernel on every node. Some features, such as AI root-cause analysis and SSO, are in Coroot Enterprise. It is opinionated about how it stores data (Prometheus plus ClickHouse), so it is another stack to run.

## Verdict

The fastest way from zero to a useful service map on Kubernetes.
