## The Hook

chi is a small, idiomatic router for Go HTTP services: route groups, URL parameters and composable middleware, all as plain net/http handlers.

## What's Good

MIT (go-chi/chi), release v5.5.0. Uses only the standard library, so any net/http handler or middleware works with it and you can drop it later without rewriting handlers. Ships a useful middleware package (logging, recovery, timeouts, request IDs). Long-lived and widely used. ★~23k.

## The Catch

Minimal on purpose: request binding, validation and response rendering need separate packages, so you assemble more yourself than with a full framework such as Gin or Echo.

## Verdict

The default Go router when you want to stay on net/http — bring your own binding and validation.
