BeeAI Framework is IBM’s Apache-2.0 toolkit for production agents in both Python and TypeScript — with first-class MCP and A2A serving.

Apache-2.0 (i-am-bee/beeai-framework). Parity across Python and TypeScript: agents, workflows, tools, memory. Serve modules expose agents over MCP and A2A (Agent2Agent under the Linux Foundation). Docs at framework.beeai.dev. pip/npm install paths; no paid framework tier.

## The Catch

Vs Agno / VoltAgent / Google ADK (agent kits) and mcp-use / FastMCP (MCP server kits): BeeAI is dual-language agent framework + protocol serve, not a coding CLI and not a managed tool catalog. IBM open-source notice says community maintenance posture — treat it as OSS you own, not an IBM product SLA. A2A server is Python-first today.
