## The Hook

AURA is Mezmo's production-tested SRE agent platform: guardrails, APIs, state, streaming, and specialist agents that investigate incidents against your observability stack.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0 (mezmo/aura), MCP-compatible. Install script for Linux/macOS, guided stack connection, and a preconfigured specialist-agent team for correlating logs, traces, metrics, and deploy history. Started as Mezmo's internal harness and is still used in their production ops.

## The Catch

Vs generic coding agents: AURA is an SRE/incident harness, not a repo coding ADE. Deepest value shows when wired to real observability backends (Mezmo and others); empty integrations will not invent incidents. Hosted Mezmo sessions are optional — self-host is the OSS path.

## Verdict

Apache-2.0 SRE agent platform. Use for production incident investigation with MCP and your own models; wire real telemetry first.
