## The Hook

Atlas is Terraform-for-schemas when hand-written migrate files or ORM-only diffs are the pain.

## What's Good

Apache-2.0 CLI forever: declarative schema apply and versioned migrate diff/lint/apply. HCL, SQL, or ORM loaders. Local linting with a disposable --dev-url. No per-migration license tax on the CLI.

## The Catch

Vs Flyway/Liquibase/Prisma migrate: schema-as-code + auto-planned diffs, not only ordered SQL scripts. LOUD: Atlas Cloud (CI automation, drift, governance) is a separate paid product — Starter free-limited, Pro adds per-dev/project fees. Free path is the OSS CLI.
