## The Hook

Artillery is a load testing toolkit where you describe user scenarios in YAML or JavaScript and run them locally or spread across AWS Lambda or Fargate, including real headless browsers through Playwright.

## The Catch

The hosted Artillery Cloud dashboard is a separate paid product; the CLI is the free part. Running at scale bills your own AWS account. k6 is the main alternative if you prefer scripting in JavaScript only.

## Verdict

A solid OSS load tester, especially for Playwright-based browser tests.
