Appsmith is an open-source low-code platform to build admin panels, dashboards and internal tools on top of your databases and APIs, with drag-and-drop widgets and JavaScript everywhere.

## The Catch

Some features, such as advanced SSO and granular access control, sit in paid plans. Apps live inside the platform, not as plain code you can export. The self-hosted image is heavy.

## Verdict

A mature open-source Retool alternative.
