## The Hook

Agent Zero is a general-purpose agent framework that runs inside a Docker container, uses the operating system itself as its main tool (terminal, files, code), and keeps memory between sessions.

## What's Good

The LICENSE file is MIT (agent0ai/agent-zero); GitHub's license detector reports NOASSERTION. Release v2.14 (2026-10-13). ★~19.5k in about 123 weeks (~158 a week). Useful when you want one agent that can write and run its own scripts for open-ended tasks instead of a fixed list of tools.

## The Catch

It gets broad access to whatever system it runs on, so keep it inside its container and do not mount your home directory or secrets you would not hand to a stranger. GitHub shows the license as NOASSERTION; read the LICENSE file yourself.

## Verdict

A capable do-anything agent, as long as the container is the boundary.
