## The Hook

Activepieces is an open-source automation platform, a Zapier replacement: build flows with a visual builder, extend them with type-safe TypeScript pieces, and use those pieces as MCP servers for AI agents.

## What's Good

Release 0.92.3 (2026-10-12), with commits daily. Hundreds of pieces, and the description lists about 400 MCP servers. Self-host with Docker or use the cloud. The pieces framework makes custom integrations simple to write. ★~25.1k.

## The Catch

The LICENSE file is MIT except packages/ee, which is under a commercial license, so this is open-core and some enterprise features need a paid plan. GitHub shows no single license. Still pre-1.0.

## Verdict

A strong self-hosted automation tool with good AI-agent support.
